Artist’s Retreat

This Willoughby project transforms a heritage house on a corner site into a functional artist’s home for a family of two. The design maximizes natural light and adheres to strict planning regulations, featuring white interiors alongside original and new timber floors.

Key elements include conserving the original fireplace and chimney, creating a cozy atmosphere. The new garage and loft conversion add space and volume, while skylights and large windows enhance light and openness.

A minimalist aesthetic ensures functionality, with a cosy backyard for meditation providing a tranquil retreat. The use of natural stone and timber connects old and new, respecting the house’s heritage while meeting modern needs.
